Mexican Highlands invites you to be part of a region  peppered with great food, beautiful cities, and rich culture. Each day will offer a glimpse into the diverse beauty that makes up this country by tasting it’s food and mezcal, diving into the history of it’s capital, wandering the streets where Frida Kahlo lived, and learning about the unique plants of  Oaxaca.

City Tour

Walk through the center of Mexico City tracing culture from Atzecs up to modern times as we spend the day in the Centro Historico

Day 3 

Museo de Antropologia 

Delve into the incredible art, jewelry, and textiles from ancient times!

Day 4 

Markets and  Art Museums

We begin the day with a trip to a local neighborhood market and then by a visit to two amazing and very different museums.

Day 5 

Frida Kahlo’s house and Coyoacan

We’ll spend the day in the bohemian neighborhood Coyoacan, meandering down cobblestone streets, enjoying traditional food, drinking coffees with poets, diplomats, and abuelas.

Day 6 

fly to Oaxaca, Ethnobotanical garden tour

A short flight takes us over the Mexican highlands into the valley of Oaxaca with it’s stunning beauty.

Day  7 

Artisan villages, Mezcal tastings. Stretching our legs out of town, we’ll spend the day visiting workshops of mezcal makers.

Day 8 

Market Tour, Explore Oaxaca

We’ll spend the day meandering our way through the bustling markets of Oaxaca.

Creative Mexico City is an artistic investigation of one of the great cities of the world. In this trip we spend ten days like we live in this magnificent city: walking its labyrinthine markets, tasting its richly varied street food, dropping into world-class museums and exploring exhibitions that span the ages. This trip is way to begin a relationship with this pre-historic and ultra-modern city.

Day 2 

Centro Historico

Walk through the center of Mexico City tracing culture from Atzecs up to modern times as we spend the day in the Centro Historico

Day 3 

Coyoacan

We’ll spend the Day of the Dead in the bohemian neighborhood Coyoacan, meandering down cobblestone streets, enjoying traditional Day of the Dead food, drinking coffees with poets, diplomats, and abuelas.

Day 4 

Teotihuacan

We’ll tour the pyramids of the sun and moon and the avenue of the dead, see ancient murals that have been exceptionally well-preserved for nearly two millennia, and enjoy some amazing views.

Day 5 

Chapultepec

Delve into the incredible art, jewelry, and textiles from ancient times!  We will spend the morning at the enormous Anthropology museum.

Day 6 

Chinampas

We leave early this morning to spend the day in this exquisite old neighborhood in the south of the city. Xocimilco means “place of the flowers.”

Day 7 

Contemporary Art Tour

We visit project spaces and galleries that represent the exploding contemporary art scene that is drawing the attention of artists and collectors around the world.

Day 8 

Polanco

Visit two amazing and very different museums that are right next to each other.

Day 9 

San Angel

We head to the popular arts and craft market in beautiful, cobblestoned San Angel for a taste of contemporary Mexican craft.
